- 3 c. self-rising flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. sweet milk
- 1 c. plus 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. shortening
Directions

1Sift flour and make hole as for making biscuits.

2Add eggs, sugar, vanilla and shortening.

3Work together in flour until sugar does not feel grainy on hands.

4Work dough well.

5Roll out small pieces and pat thin in hand, or roll thin with rolling pin and cut with cutter.

6Put on greased cookie sheet and bake at 325° to 350° for 15 minutes until golden brown.
