- 3/4 c. shortening
- 3 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 3 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 6 eggs
- 3 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Beat eggs and shortening together.

2Add sugar, alternately adding flour and milk.

3Add vanilla.

4Grease as many cake pans as you have.

5Place about 2 big dipping spoonfuls of batter in each pan and cook at 350° for about 10 minutes or until done.

6Layer will be thin.

7Make icing ahead and stack and ice as the layers come from the oven.

8Re-grease pans each time you use.
