- 2 lb. ground chuck
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 5 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. cumin seed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 cans Franco-American beef gravy or 2 c. beef broth
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
- 3 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans
- 1/4 c. cornmeal
Directions

1Brown beef.

2Cook onion with chili and garlic until just tender.

3Transfer both to Dutch oven or deep cooking pan.

4Add gravy, tomatoes, salt and pepper.

5Cook on low heat for 25 minutes, stirring frequently.

6Add beans and cornmeal.

7Stir for 5 minutes, until thickened.

8Makes 14 cups.
