- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 large peppers, cut fine
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1/2 c. uncooked rice
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. canned tomatoes
Directions

1Cook onions and green peppers slowly in shortening until onions are yellow.

2Add meat and fry until mixture falls apart. Add tomatoes, rice and seasonings and mix.

3Place in 2-quart casserole; cover and bake at 375° for 45 minutes.
