Thanksgiving Squash

Ingredients

  • 8-10 medium acorn squashes
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Directions

    1. Wash outside of squash.

    2. Cut each squash in half and clean out seeds and stringy parts.

    3. Fill each half with water.
  4. 4
    4. Place squash open side up in baking dish and cook in oven at 325 F for 1-2 hours.

    5. Remove from oven and let cool.

    6. Remove the squash flesh and put squash into large bowl (I like to put it in my slow cooker to easily transport and reheat).

    7. Melt butter and brown sugar in pot.
  8. 8
    8. Pour melted sauce on top of the squash and mix or mash well.

    9. Spice freely (I like to add salt, nutmeg, and pumpkin pie spice).
