Ingredients
- 1 medium head cabbage
- 2 thin carrots, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced or shredded
- 1 green pepper, sliced or shredded
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 10 Tbsp. vinegar
- 4 Tbsp. salad oil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 cucumbers, sliced
- pepper to taste
Directions

1Put all of the ingredients into a large salad or mixing bowl; toss.

2Marinate overnight or for several hours in refrigerator. Salad is always better if made the day before serving and allowed to marinate.

3Can be used as a main course, with sandwiches or as an accompaniment to roast pork or baked ham.
