- 2 c. sugar
- 3/4 lb. butter (3 sticks)
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 c. sifted flour
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Add egg yolks and vanilla.

3Mix well. Add flour and mix thoroughly.

4Shape dough into small balls, the size of a walnut.

5Flatten slightly.

6Make a small indentation in the center of each cookie by using a thimble and lightly pressing the center with your thumb.

7Spoon a small amount of your favorite jelly or jam into the indentation.

8Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

9Makes 7 to 8 dozen.
