- 1 cup Yellow Split Peas (washed 3x and drained)
- Salt
- Daikon Radish (peeled cut into 3 inch lengths)
- Canola Oil
- Dried Chili
- Kalonji (Nigella Seeds)
- Cilantro
- Green Chilies
Directions

1Boil 3-4 cups of water in pot.

2Add 1 cup of yellow split peas and salt and allow to come to a boil again.

3Keep covered and allow to boil (stirring occasionally) until daal is finished (will be soft).

4Use immersion blender to smooth the daal.

5Add in radish and allow to boil (you could also add in cabbage and green beans here).

6Allow radish to cook until soft.

7Separately make a forum, heat about 1 tbs of oil and add one dried chili (broken) once hot. Then add kalonji - it should sizzle.

8Pour forun in with daal and stir.

9Taste to check for salt.

10Add handful of cilantro (and green chilies if you want).
