Three Hour Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sweet milk, scalded
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 yeast cake, dissolved in 1/3 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. shortening

Directions

    Combine sugar and shortening in large bowl.

    Add the scalded milk.

    When the mixture is cool, add the yeast and salt.

    Stir thick with flour.

    Let rise 2 hours, roll and shape into rolls. Raise 1 hour and bake at 350° to 375°.

    Makes about 18 rolls.
