Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (1 lb.) can stewed tomatoes (Del Monte Mexican tomatoes work well)
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 4 oz. diced green chilies
  • 1/2 to 1 pkg. taco seasoning (to taste)
  • 1 pkg. large flour tortillas
  • 1 lb. Colby/Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 1/2 c. sour cream
  • shredded lettuce
  • chopped onions
  • picante sauce

Directions

    Brown hamburger and onion.

    Add tomatoes, sauce, chilies and seasoning.

    Simmer 10 minutes.

    Place 1/2 cup mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Place layer of tortillas on top. Add more mixture, then layer cheese.

    Repeat layers.
