- 6 c. pecans
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Spread pecans on cookie sheet and roast at 275° for 20 minutes.

2Cool.

3Beat egg whites.

4Melt butter in oven in a 9 x 12-inch loaf pan.

5To foamy egg whites, add sugar, vanilla and salt.

6Beat until stiff.

7Fold in nuts.

8Pour into pan with butter and spread evenly in pan.

9Bake at 275° for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes until butter is absorbed and nuts are brown. Dump onto waxed paper to cool.

10Break up and put in airtight container to store.
