- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter
- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Combine first 3 ingredients in thick saucepan.

2Cook on medium-low heat.

3Use a candy thermometer.

4Stir constantly until it reaches 300°.

5Stir in vanilla.

6Pour quickly into ungreased 15 x 10-inch pan.

7Sprinkle with chocolate chips.

8Allow to stand 2 minutes.

9Spread chocolate chips evenly over toffee and sprinkle nuts on top.

10Allow to harden.

11Break in pieces and serve.
