  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar (firm pack)
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 8 milk chocolate bars
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar and then beat in egg and vanilla.

    Add flour and salt.

    Spread dough in jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1-inch). Bake at 350° for 15 minutes until browned.

    Put candy bars on warm cookie and return to oven for 1 minute or until chocolate is runny. Remove from oven and quickly spread across top.

    Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

    Cool and cut in squares.

    Yields 3 dozen bars.
