  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 350F.

    Place the butter, brown sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl and mix with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes, or until completely combined.

    Add the flour and mix on low speed for 2 minutes, or until the flour is incorporated.

    Stir in the chocolate chips.

    Place the dough on an ungreased 11 by 17-inch baking sheet and press into an even layer covering the entire pan.

    Bake the bars for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are light golden brown.

    Let them cool for 5 minutes and then cut them into squares.

    (If they cool too much they will crack when you cut them.)
