Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded coconut
  • 1 c. walnuts

    Combine shortening and salt.

    Add 1/2 cup brown sugar and cream.

    Stir in flour.

    Spread evenly in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 325° for 15 minutes.

    Beat eggs, add brown sugar and vanilla.

    Beat well.

    Add remaining ingredients and stir until well blended.

    Spread on baked mixture.

    Bake at 325° for 25 minutes.
