Tomato Bisque

  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 3 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks celery with leaves
  • cracked pepper to taste
  • 3/4 tsp. sweet basil
  • 1 c. water
  • dash of Tabasco
  • 1 c. half and half or milk

Directions

    Cut celery into thirds or just enough to fit into medium size saucepan.

    Put all ingredients (except for half and half) into saucepan; bring to a boil.

    Turn down heat and let simmer for 20 minutes.

    Place mixture in a blender and puree.

    Pour into saucepan with half and half and heat through.

    Serves 4 to 6.
