Tomato Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 can or 1 pt. tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. water (more or less)
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. cooking oil (bacon drippings may be used instead)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Put cooking oil in skillet.

    Sprinkle flour on top of oil; stir as it browns.

    When brown, pour in tomatoes and water.

    Stir constantly until gravy is thick.

    Delicious with homemade biscuits.
