  • 1 (9-inch) deep-dish pie shell (uncooked)
  • 4 to 5 large tomatoes, peeled and thickly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 3 tsp. basil
  • garlic powder to taste
  • 3/4 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 1/4 c. grated sharp cheese

Directions

    Bake pie shell for 10 minutes at 370°. Remove from oven. Layer tomatoes in shell. Sprinkle each layer with salt, pepper, basil and garlic powder. Combine mayonnaise and cheese. Spread over tomatoes. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until brown. Let pie stand for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
