- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 slices fresh bread, broken into big chunks
- 1/2 c. melted butter
Directions

1Mix first 4 ingredients and boil for 10 minutes.

2Put bread in casserole.

3Pour over bread the butter.

4Mix, then pour tomato puree over all.

5Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 300°.
