Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 whole garlic cloves, peeled
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 14 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 (28 ounce) peeled italian tomatoes with basil, drained and chopped, reserve juice
- 12 fresh basil leaves
- 14 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
Directions

1In a saucepan, heat the oil, garlic, onion and red pepper flakes over medium-high heat cooking for 5 minutes.

2Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 10 minutes stirring every 5 minutes.

3Add tomatoes, basil, oregano and salt stirring well and cook 5 minutes over medium-high heat.

4Add reserved tomato juice and bring to a boil over high heat.

5Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6Let cool to room temperature and process to a smooth consistency in a food processor.

7Sauce can be frozen for up to one month.
