- 1/2 lb. salt pork
- 2 qt. water (approximately)
- 4 to 5 lb. turnip greens (approximately)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 medium turnips
Directions

1Wash greens; drain and chop into medium pieces.

2Peel turnips and quarter.

3Rinse salt pork; pat dry.

4Slice into 1/2-inch thick pieces.

5Cook pork slices in 8-quart Dutch oven until golden brown.

6Slowly pour in water and bring to a boil.

7Cook pork on low about 20 minutes or until tender.

8Add chopped turnip greens, onion and sugar.

9Cook slowly about 15 minutes.

10Add turnips and cook 15 minutes more or until all is tender.
