- 1 lb. ground pork
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. mashed potatoes
Directions

1Cover meat and onions with water.

2Cook, uncovered, on medium-high until the water evaporates and down to the fat. Drain.

3Add spices and potatoes; crush 4 saltines and add to it (this absorbs the fat).

4Cool; pour into unbaked pie shell.

5Cover with pastry; prick to allow steam to escape.

6Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then reduce oven to 350° and bake until crust is light brown.
