Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 gal. cucumbers
  • 2 c. lime
  • 2 gal. water
  • 3 qt. vinegar
  • 12 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. celery seed
  • 2 tsp. pickling spice
  • some green food coloring

Directions

    Slice cucumbers, taking out seeds.

    Cube and mix with lime in 2 gallons of water.
  3. 3
    Soak cucumbers for 24 hours.
  4. 4
    Rinse well. Cover with clear water and soak for 3 hours.

    Drain and cover with boiling water.
  6. 6
    Drain and mix vinegar, sugar, salt, celery seed, pickling spice and food coloring.

    Add cucumbers and boil for 35 minutes.

    Put in jars and seal.
