- 1 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. soft shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 c. more flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water.

2Stir in the sugar, flour and the salt; beat until smooth.

3Add the soft shortening, egg and 1 1/4 cups more flour; beat until smooth.

4Scrape down sides of bowl and seal.

5Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes.
