Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground lamb
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 c. grated onion
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. coarse (kosher) salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 8 French rolls, slit in half lengthwise with some of bread scooped out
- 2 Italian sweet peppers, seeded and thinly sliced
- 3 plum tomatoes, seeded and thinly sliced
- 1 red onion, sliced
Directions

1Put first 11 ingredients in a large bowl; work with hands to combine.

2Don't overmix.

3Form meat into 8 patties.

4Grill or broil 3 inches from medium heat.

5For rare meat, cook 8 minutes on the first side and 5 minutes after turning.

6Place patty on bottom half of each roll.

7Garnish with Italian sweet peppers, plum tomatoes and red onions, then top with remaining 1/2 of roll.
