Turnip Casserole

  • 2 lb. white turnips, peeled and diced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. half and half
  • 1/8 c. sugar
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1/4 c. Ritz cracker crumbs

Directions

    Put prepared turnips in a pot with water to cover and the salt.

    Cook until well done, about 1/2 hour.

    Drain well.

    Mash. Add milk, sugar and butter; continue mixing.

    Pour into buttered, oven-proof casserole.

    Top with cracker crumbs.

    Bake at 300° for 45 minutes or until browned on top.
