- 2 lb. white turnips, peeled and diced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. half and half
- 1/8 c. sugar
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 1/4 c. Ritz cracker crumbs
Directions

1Put prepared turnips in a pot with water to cover and the salt.

2Cook until well done, about 1/2 hour.

3Drain well.

4Mash. Add milk, sugar and butter; continue mixing.

5Pour into buttered, oven-proof casserole.

6Top with cracker crumbs.

7Bake at 300° for 45 minutes or until browned on top.

8Serves 8.
