- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 3/4 c. butter, melted
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix (dry)
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1 c. pecans
Directions

1On top of stove over low heat, combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk; stir until melted.

2Remove from heat.

3While caramels are melting, combine cake mix, butter and remaining 1/3 cup of evaporated milk; mix well.

4Add pecans.

5Pour half of mixture into a greased 13 x 9-inch pan and bake at 350° for 6 minutes.

6Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate pieces on top. Pour melted caramels over chocolate pieces.

7Spoon remaining cake mixture over caramels.

8Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
