  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. vanilla caramels
  • 1 c. milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 c. oleo, melted
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 3/4 c. evaporated milk

Directions

    Melt caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

    Set aside.

    Mix cake mix with 3/4 cup melted oleo and 3/4 cup evaporated milk. Spread 1/2 of the mixture in a 9 x 13-inch cake pan that has been sprayed with Pam or lightly greased.

    Bake 15 minutes at 350°. Then spread melted caramel mix on cake.

    Then sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on cake.

    Spread remaining cake mix over this and bake 18 to 20 minutes longer at 350°.

    Let cool before cutting. The remaining cake mix will not cover the caramels and nuts completely.
