- 1 pkg. caramels (14 oz.)
- 3/4 c. margarine
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 2 c. milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 1 c. walnuts
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In small saucepan, combine caramels, milk and butter; cook over low heat until caramels are melted, stirring often.

3Prepare cake mix according to directions; spoon half batter into greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan; bake 15 minutes. Take from oven and pour melted caramel mixture over top.

4Sprinkle with chips and walnuts.

5Spoon remaining batter over all and bake for 30 minutes longer.

6Let cool completely, then cut into bars. Tastes great topped with ice cream.
