Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef stew meat, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can whole peeled tomatoes, undrained and chopped
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1 medium green pepper, diced
  • 1 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped (optional)

Directions

    Lightly toss beef with flour.

    In Dutch oven, heat oil and brown beef over medium-high heat.

    Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer, covered,stirring occasionally, 1 1/2 hours or until beef is tender.

    Serve over hot egg noodles.
