Upside-Down Cherry Cobbler

  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 can cherry filling

    Thoroughly cream together 1/2 cup sugar and margarine.

    Blend in flour, baking powder and salt.

    Gradually add milk, mixing well.

    (Don't worry about lumps.)

    Spread batter in greased 9 x 9-inch pan.

    Distribute cherries evenly over batter.

    Pour on cherry liquid.

    Sprinkle cherries with remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes or until light brown.
