Upside-Down Hamburger Pie

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3/4 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 (8 oz.) can Hunt's tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 c. Bisquick
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed

Directions

    Heat oven to 450°.

    Brown meat in oil; drain.

    Add onion, celery and green pepper; cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, salt, pepper and Worcestershire.

    Make biscuit dough (add parsley and celery seed to flour if desired). Roll; make into biscuits or 1 eight-inch circle.

    Place on hot meat.

    Bake 15 minutes.

    Remove from oven; let stand 5 minutes. Invert over hot serving plate.
