  • 1 1/2 qt. milk
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. flour to 1 c. milk
  • big pinch of salt
  • 9 to 1 doz. eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cook very slowly in heavy saucepan milk and sugar and continue to stir.

    Add 4 tablespoons flour mixed in about 1 cup of milk. Add salt and beat eggs and add to mixture.

    Cook slowly and stir until custard is thickened.

    I like to refrigerate overnight but may use same day.

    Before pouring custard in freezer, add vanilla and additional sugar until custard is over sweet.

    You may add fresh or canned fruit to same vanilla custard.

    Add can milk if custard does not come to line mark in freezer.
