Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2/3 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt (I use 1/2 tsp.)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour

Directions

    Cream the butter, shortening and sugar; add vanilla and salt. Add eggs.

    Beat well after each egg.

    Stir in sifted flour; mix well.

    Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.

    Flatten.

    Bake in moderate oven (375°) for 8 to 10 minutes or until delicately browned on edges.

    Remove immediately from pan.

    Makes 7 to 8 dozen cookies.
