Ingredients
- 4 green onions
- 1/4 c. fresh basil leaves
- 1 egg white, beaten
- 1/2 lb. ground veal
- 1/3 c. fine bread crumbs
- 3/4 c. evaporated skim milk
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. low-fat chicken stock
Directions

1Chop onions.

2Mince basil.

3Add green onions and half of basil to beaten egg whites.

4Stir in veal, bread crumbs and 1/4 cup milk.

5Add nutmeg, allspice and pepper.

6Make patties.

7Brown in olive oil.

8Remove to plate and keep warm.

9Combine 1/2 cup milk and flour; blend.

10In skillet, add chicken stock and bring to a boil, stirring browned bits from bottom of pan.

11Stir in flour mixture; cook 2 minutes.

12Stir in remaining basil.

13Return patties to skillet.

14Cook two minutes until hot.

15Good with brown rice and green vegetable.
