Vegetable Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 can green asparagus, drained
  • 1 can English peas, drained
  • 1 can water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 can mushrooms, drained
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 5 c grated cheese (1 lb)
  • 1 stick oleo
  • Dash of cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 drops Tabasco sauce

Directions

    Butter a casserole dish.

    Layer asparagus, peas, cheese and water chestnuts.

    Combine mushroom soup and seasonings.

    Pour over vegetables.

    Melt 1 stick of butter.

    Cut 4 slices of bread into strips and put in butter.

    Place strips on top of casserole, then cheese on top.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

    Serves a bunch.
