- 2 1/2 c. warm water (not hot)
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. dry powdered milk
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 rounded tsp. salt
- 3 c. more flour
Directions

1Combine first four ingredients.

2Stir well to dissolve.

3Add 2 1/2 cups flour and stir well.

4Add shortening and salt.

5Place 1/2 to 1 cup of flour on board and knead 100 times, working flour in. Let rise until double in size (about 2 hours).

6Make into 2 large loaves or three medium loaves or rolls or alligators (cinnamon, nuts, etc.).
