- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. water
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
Directions

1Combine buttermilk and soda; set aside.

2Combine flour, sugar and salt in mixing bowl.

3Combine butter, water and cocoa in a saucepan; bring to boil.

4Pour over flour mixture and mix well; cool.

5Add eggs and buttermilk mixture; mix well.

6Pour into 2 greased and floured 8-inch cake pans.

7Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

8Cool and frost.
