Venison Roast

  • 1 venison roast
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3 to 4 carrots, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 to 4 potatoes, chopped
  • 4 tsp. bacon fat
  • celery, chopped
  • flour
  • 1 to 2 onions, chopped

Directions

    Flour roast and brown on both sides in bacon fat.

    Place in baking pan and cover with water.

    Cover with foil and bake in 350° oven until roast is tender.

    Remove from oven, add vegetables and seasonings and return to oven.

    Cover and cook until vegetables are done.

    Gravy can be made by browning flour and using the broth, if desired.
