Ingredients
- 600 grams white fish fillets
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 200 grams chickpea / gram flour
- 1/2 bunch fresh coriander, finely chopped
- 1 green chilli, deseeded if desired and finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 200 ml water
- 1 oil for deep frying
Directions

1Cut the fish into bitesize pieces and toss gently in the lemon juice to marinate

2Mix the flour, coriander, chilli, salt and turmeric in a bowl and add the water to make into a batter

3Coat the fish in the batter and let sit for 15 minutes

4Meanwhile, heat the oil to deep fry the fish, a medium heat is good.

5Fry the pieces until golden brown, around 5 minutes

6Remove the fish and let drain on kitchen towel.

7Pat off any excess oil.

8Nice served on a bed of lettuce with lemon wedges
