  • 4 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 4 1/4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 egg for the browning
  • 2 tablespoons water

    Place all ingredients in a food processor. Knead for about 10 minutes.

    Let rise for 1 hour away from drafts.

    De-gas the dough, flatten it. Divide the dough into 2 parts.

    Make 2 identical logs (for the form) of medium size (30 centimeters). Braid them and solder the ends well, crushing the two strands together.

    Place the braid on a nonstick plate. Set aside for 40 minutes.

    Preheat oven at 220 degrees Celsius.

    In a bowl, mix the egg + 2 tablespoons of water. Gild the braid with a brush.
