- 1 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 18 teaspoon allspice
- 1 1/2 cups wheat cereal flakes, crushed
- 1 cup walnuts coarsely chopped
- 1/4 cup apples chopped
- 1 each eggs slightly beaten
- 1/4 cup brown sugar firmly packed
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk lowfat
Directions

1Grease or spray 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.

2Preheat oven to 350F (180C).

3Mix and sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices into bowl.

4Stir in cereal, walnuts and apple.

5Combine egg, brown sugar, buttermilk and oil; add to dry mixture.

6Stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients.

7Do not beat.

8Spoon into pan.

9Bake at 350F (180C) F one hour or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
