Walnut Ice Cream Topping

  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 to 1 1/4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Directions

    Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan; mix well.

    Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

    Reduce heat to low and cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Let cool; store in an airtight container in refrigerator.

    Serve over ice cream. Yields 1 1/2 cups.

    May substitute pecans for walnuts.
