Ingredients

  • 8 egg yolks plus 2 whole eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. whiskey
  • 12 Tbsp. sifted flour
  • 22 Tbsp. fine ground walnuts
  • 4 Tbsp. each: flour and grated toast
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 8 egg whites
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Directions

    Beat egg yolks plus 2 whole eggs well.

    Add whiskey and sugar. Beat well for 3 minutes with an electric mixer.

    Remove from mixer and fold in walnuts.

    Fold in flour and toast.

    Add vanilla. Beat egg whites with a dash of salt and cream of tartar and beat until stiff.

    Now fold egg yolk mixture into whites.

    Mix.

    Pour into pan and bake for 55 minutes at 350°.
