- 4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 1 c. currants or raisins
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 c. milk
Directions

1Heat frypan or griddle to 325° or 330°.

2In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and nutmeg.

3Add the butter or margarine to flour mixture and mix as for a pie crust.

4Add currants and raisins.

5Beat the eggs with the milk.

6Add to dry ingredients.

7Mix well with your hands.

8If the dough is sticky, add more flour.

9Roll out on a lightly floured board and cut with a cookie cutter or a glass.
