  • 2 lb. round steak, cut in pieces
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. cornflakes, crushed
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce with mushrooms

Directions

    Trim fat off steak, pound meat and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

    Dip meat into egg, then cornflakes mixed with chili powder.

    Brown meat on both sides in Wesson oil at medium heat. Add remaining ingredients.

    Cover; simmer 45 to 60 minutes.
