- 2 c. scalded milk
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 c. dry milk
- 2 Tbsp. yeast
- 1/2 c. wheat germ
- 9 c. white flour
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 4 c. water
- 6 to 7 c. wheat flour
- 3/4 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. water (115~)
Directions

1Scald milk.

2While milk is cooling, add sugar, salt and shortening to milk.

3Add yeast to 1/2 cup warm water (115°) let stand a few minutes, then add to milk mixture.

4Add dry milk, wheat germ, molasses, 4 cups water and wheat flour; mix well.

5Let this rise until double.

6It will look bubbly and spongy, then add white flour.

7Knead in well.

8Let rise once then form into loaves and place in greased pans.

9Bake 45 minutes at 350°.

10Makes 6 loaves.
