Whiskey Glazed Cabbage

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 pound green cabbage Cored and shredded
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper freshly
  • 2 ounces Irish whiskey

    Melt the butter in a 12-inch high-sided saute pan over medium-high heat. Cook for 2 to 4 minutes or until the butter browns.

    Add the cabbage, kosher salt, and the pepper to the pan with the brown butter. Saute for 7 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and lightly browned.

    Turn off the heat and deglaze the pan with the whiskey, scraping the brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Serve warm.
