  • 2 cans navy beans, drained
  • 3 (10 1/2 oz.) cans no-salt chicken broth
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or 1 tsp. dried minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. chopped chicken, skinned before cooking and cooked without salt
  • 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chiles
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 3/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves

    Cover and cook for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Serve with shredded Monterey Jack cheese on top or mild Mexican Cheez Whiz spooned in.
