- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 1/3 c. quartered candied cherries
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
- 2 tsp. butter
Directions

1Combine sugar, sour cream, milk, butter, syrup and salt in saucepan.

2Stir over moderate heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture reaches a boil.

3Boil 9 to 10 minutes to 238° (soft ball stage).

4Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm, about 1 hour.

5Add vanilla and beat until it begins to lose its gloss and holds its shape.

6Quickly stir in nuts and cherries and pour into a greased pan.

7Let stand until firm.
